stop_protesting-218x300Bad things can happen to anyone.

No one is in control of what is going to happen now and in the future.

Since this is a given fact, how come some people still protest when things do not go their way?

For us to better understand why this is a common behavior, let us try to understand what the word ‘protest’ means.

Protest

Protest means going against or an expression of objection. Why do people protest?  People protest or complain because they feel that they were treated unfairly.

Life is not fair when ….

People start judging us without getting the facts.

People start accusing us of something we did not do.

Good people die and bad people live long.

You work hard and never get noticed, while others do not but they still get the credit.

Someone in your office gets promoted because of seniority not because of performance.

Your line is not moving while the others  are.

You get stuck in traffic for 30 minutes  even though you are only 3 minutes away from the meeting place.

Someone else gets the credit for the work you did.
Believe it or not, I also had my share of injustice when I was still active in the movie industry.  I was cast into a story conference and brainstorming with the producers for some ideas on how to make the film interesting with the commitment that I will also be part of the casts. We had several meetings on how my character is going to portray.  But after a few weeks, I never heard any news again from the film outfit and soon to learn that they are already filming without me as part of the casts. I felt so used and abused, after milking the ideas off of me and for not fulfilling the commitment they made to make me a part of their casts. I did protest and tried to get in touch  with the producers but to no avail. It affected me mentally, emotionally and also financially since I felt betrayed and abused. But I discovered, the more I dwell on what happened to me in the past, the more I cannot move on in life. I felt like a hamster running inside a wheel barrow.

Because of th
is experience I learned to do the following:

Stop protesting and complaining that life is not fair.

Start realizing, the more I protest the longer it would take for me to move on.

Start accepting that I can never change the past.

Start doing the right things in order to make things happen!
God allowed me to go through that experience not to hurt me but to make me stronger and to learn from my mistakes so that I will never repeat it again.  God taught me to become wiser and better in my dealing with people.
Admit it or not bad things happen to all of us. Yes, even to ‘good’ people. This is part of life.  The earlier we admit that life is not fair the better it will be for us.  We must notwait for life to treat us fairly in order for us to become successful. Stop complaining and do something!
