ILAGAY SA TAMA ANG HIYA

Parati ka bang self-conscious?

“Okay lang kaya itong damit ko?”
“Hala, tama ba ang grammar ko kanina? Kakahiya!”
“Eh, baka hindi nila matanggap ang nakaraan ko.”

Kailangan mo ba laging magpanggap just to please others?
Nahihiya ka ba sa sariling mong kakayahan?
Sounds familiar?

These are just some of the ways that prove that we put a premium on how others judge us. We are not being true to ourselves if we try too hard to impress people we don’t even like just for us to be accepted.

Nagbabago tayo just because that’s what society dictates.

You know, mga kapatid? People are judgmental in nature. Masakit, pero totoo. We are surrounded with people who are critical at pupunahin tayo.

Wala silang hang-up sa buhay. Walang emotional baggage.

THEY ARE NOT SELF-CONSCIOUS.

“Eh, bata sila eh. Kaya, hindi talaga sila nahihiya. Malakas pa ang loob.”

That’s my point. Kids are proud of everything that they do.

Magsusuot ng tutu dress in public?
Will sing and dance their hearts out sa maraming tao?
Maduming bibig sa kakakain ng chocolates?

THEY DON’T CARE.

Tatawa lang sila, patakbo-takbo, at ie-enjoy lang ‘yung moment because they know that it will make them happy and fulfilled. Do they bother about what other parents or kids are saying? NO.

GO!
Mag-aaral ka uli, kahit may edad na? GO!
Gusto mong magtayo ng business? GO!

THEY ARE COURAGEOUS AND BOLD.

They will try anything and everything. Wala silang takot. They will explore, try, and do crazy things just for them to know if it will work or not. Kaya nga, we need to go back and have a child-like faith – tulad ng ating mga anak.

Do what you feel is right for you. Kung may kulang, improve and enhance it. It’s as simple as that.

It’s okay to be conscious, mature, and act accordingly as an adult, but we must never allow ourselves to be completely changed by what others expect from us or what is only acceptable in the society’s eyes.

THINK. REFLECT. APPLY.

How can you be proud of yourself more?
